Live Life Loudly Ep 16: Social Anxiety and Toastmasters
Today I wanted to talk about my social anxiety and one of the biggest stepping stones I took to break that fear up.
I recently had an opportunity to go to a Toastmasters club meeting and it was amazing! I have wanted to do Toastmasters for years but never got up the nerve or courage to go. I was always uneasy wondering if I would be accepted? Would I be laughed at? Would I freeze up while speaking? What if nobody talks to me or WANTS me to talk?
My fears were quickly crushed as I walked into my first meeting at Ziglar International. The meeting was so well run and organized. The speakers there were incredible and the feedback that everyone game was amazing. It was critical, but constructive.
For those that don’t know what Toastmasters is let me just give you the description from their own website.
“Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.”
Go to www.toastmasters.org and check out a club in your area. If you have EVER wanted to learn more about public speaking, this is a great opportunity for you.
