I talk today about being a self-described introvert and things I am doing to retrain my brain to not feel that fear. We all have it from time to time, some just have it worse than others.

Definition: introverted

of, denoting, or typical of an introvert.

Synonyms: shy, reserved, withdrawn, quiet

Since the 1920’s and ongoing a huge spike in the term or identification of being introverted has been recognized. I wasn’t always an introvert myself. I think I started becoming more and more of one in the last 15 or 20 years.

It is too easy to be the mouse in your every day life. The mouse will sit quietly, watching for all the dangers around him. He scurries about just trying to not make waves and getting noticed.

The lion is proud and makes his presence known! He doesn’t hope for the approval of others and he isn’t quiet about his needs and his intentions.

Life would be great without stress right?

How can we limit the amount of stress we have? Here are a few things I have done that helps out quite a bit. It’s still a learning process for me, of course.

Meditate – Started doing it and it made a HUGE difference – Insight Timer app is what I normally use.
Stop, Breathe for 10 seconds and just do NOTHING!
Ask yourself if what you are stressing about and can be changed by stressing over it? Likely that answer is NO.

Letting worry consume us is allowing something outside of our control to live rent free in our minds! If it doesn’t make you happy or doesn’t make you money…DO NOT ALLOW IT TO BOTHER YOU!

Easier said than done…

We all experience that moment when a friend, a co-worker or even a stranger will ask us to do something…and we say yes.

A YES to them is a NO to yourself.

How to decide when a NO or a YES is better? Ask yourself if you are going to deny yourself anything? Ask if you will gain anything?

Community Challenge – Practice saying NO to things that you simply do not want to do. Don’t risk your job, life or even freedom of course… but put yourself before others for ONE WEEK and let me know how it works out for you.
